About Us
With over 15 years of industry experience, Pete Allen has worked on all types of security projects from homes to hospitals to airports, he’s seen it all.
Having worked for some of the largest security providers across Aotearoa New Zealand, Pete became aware of the gap in service delivery and after-project care for clients, inspiring him and his wife Anita to start AP Security in 2021.
AP Security provides powerful residential and commercial security systems in Christchurch. We can design, install, and maintain a security system from scratch or work with you at any point in the process. We provide straightforward, honest advice with a fair quote and are available 24/7 for callouts.

Pete began his security technician career with Concord, later amalgamated into Advanced Security.
With the team in Hamilton, he worked on projects for:

Pete is a born and bred Cantabrian and got his start in the security business in Australia as a customer service operator for a corporate security company. Working in this fast paced call centre environment taught Pete the fundamentals of problem solving.
Pete is passionate about solving security problems and ultimately providing peace of mind to clients.
Pete has a calm and confident manner when it comes to working with clients, as he always goes the extra mile to exceed their expectations.
Over the last 25 years, Pete has gained extensive industry experience covering a wide variety of roles from technician & installation to sales and management.
He enjoys getting outdoors and tramping around NZ, photography, most types of music and catching up with friends and family.
Pete has a knack of thinking outside the box, but some might say he’s a bit left field because he is a leftie!
